McFly Video
Live Effects were asked to provide flame and smoke effects for McFly’s new music video. We used propane flames effects for their repeatability and huge 8m effects. We also used gas powered smoke generators to create a thick white smoke on cue and other pyrotechnic effects including jets and robotics.

Skins Secret Party
Live Effects provided pyrotechnics, bubbles and confetti for the Skins Secret Party. We fired 4 hits of jets horizontally 40ft above the audience to create a sky of sparks over their heads. We also rigged 20 confetti cannons throughout the venue to create a huge cascade of white flutter fetti. We also hung bubble machines at the very top of the venue so bubbles slowly cascaded down onto the crowd.

Live & Unsigned 2008
Live and Unsigned is a national music competition for unsigned bands and singers. All competitors get the opportunity to be crowned the UK’s best Live and Unsigned act. Live Effects provided pyrotechnics and special effects for the televised finals at various venues throughout the UK. Confetti cannons and Gerbs were used throughout the shows and we created a chase of jets across the stage as the ultimate winner was announced at each venue making for a spectacular finale.

Weston Favell Shopping Centre Christmas Lighting
We were asked to provide some special lighting for a shopping mall in Northampton over the Christmas period to draw extra customers in from the surrounding area. We used weatherproof lighting on the outside of the building to create a coloured wash down the front and used a large multi-beam searchlight on the roof to draw attention to the centre. We also projected snowflakes on the ceiling inside which were then changed to fireworks just before New Year’s Eve. |

Robot Wars UK Tour
Live Effects were contracted to provide technical solutions for the UK tour of Roaming Robots. We met with the director of the show and discussed the technicalities of the production. As the arena is surrounded by bullet proof glass for the safety of the audience, all lighting had to be done from an elevated position to avoid glare off the glass. After some trials we decided to attach truss towers to the side off the arena. This gave us the elevation required as well as keeping the arena looking industrial as the show required. We are now in our third season touring with them and continue to expand the show each season. |
